Buyoancy World

  • depth: 10-15 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: "the world buoyancy" is an artificial dive site, created with the aim of diving schools where beginners divers can safely practice their skills without harming delicate marine life; divers unanimously say that swimming here is great fun; at the same time it is an attractive habitat for underwater creatures.

Hin Fai - Bio Rock

  • depth: 8-13 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: this is an artificial dive site, created in 2008 within the framework of the project Save Koh Tao; the main element is the steel structure, which using current accumulates minerals, thus changing the PH of water, thereby creating a better environment for the growth of corals, sponges, oysters, clams and accelerates their development up to five times!

Aow Leuk

  • depth: 4-18 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: a beautiful shallow and sheltered bay, which is an ideal place for divers beginners; it is also extremely bright and colorful, which attracts many underwater photographers; there is a design biorock created under the project to protect bivalve molluscs; this is one of the few places where you can see lionfish and young black tip sharks.

Hin Ngnam

  • depth: 4-18 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: the dive site is located in the south-eastern part of the island; between huge boulders you can find numerous species of fish; it is very popular as a starting diving drift to Aow Leuk.

Jansom Bay

  • depth: 2-8 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: dive site located in the immediate vicinity of Mae Head; ideal for snorkelling and very popular with diving schools, where students can practice.

Japanese Gardens

  • depth: 2-14 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: nice and shallow dive site, ideal for beginners; particularly attractive is the large selection of coral; numerous inlets allow you to practice buoyancy control; you can see funnel corals, mushroom corals, angelfish, titan triggerfish, porcupine pufferfish.

Koh Yippon

  • depth: 5-15m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: the dive site is located on the northern edge of the National Marine Park Ang Thong; there are numerous swim throughs and caves underwater; habitat of beautiful and colorful soft corals and schools o fusiliers.

Lighthouse

  • depth: 5-18 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: very varied dive site located on the north-eastern part of the island; you can dive in the bay with plenty corals, as well as swim to the north out of the bay and explore the area covered with huge boulders.

Mango Bay

  • depth: 2-18 m
  • degree of difficulty: Easy
  • description: diving in the bay full of corals, especially recommended for beginners and photographers who will find many interesting macro objects; for more advanced - the drop off leads to 18 m depth.

Pottery i 3 Rocks

  • depth: 5-12 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: located just 2 from the pier in Mae Haad pier, these two dive sites are a great choice for beginners; 3 Rocks are visible from the surface, while the water is full of huge boulders, between which you can swim; Pottery is located a little deeper and consists of numerous small rock formations; you can see here porcupinefishes, rays, angelfish, bannerfish, seahorses, butterflyfish.

Sairee Reef

  • depth: 5-10
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: a very popular dive site because of the location close to the beach; reef stretches the entire lenght of the beach, and is ideal for beginners; you can see flatworms and colonies of anemones.

Shark Bay

  • depth of 2-8 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: the place very shallow, especially recommended for snorklers; you can meet young black tip reef sharks.

Tanote Bay

  • depth: 5-16 m
  • degree of difficulty: easy
  • description: charming reef located on south side of the island, near the most beautiful beach on Koh Tao; in the northern part there is a sunken catamaran, which is the habitat for many species of fish: unicornfish (white ones and black with orange tale), barracudas, angelfish, fusilers; also interesting is the exploration of numerous cracks and crevices.

Tao Tong

  • a description: a small, shallow bay located just 10 minutes from Mae Head; there is a selection of coral and various fish.
